Students from Adamson University recently took part in an exciting online bootcamp focused on one of blockchain's most in-demand skills — building decentralized applications on Arbitrum.
The bootcamp centered on a hands-on project: coding a basic NFT marketplace from the ground up. Participants got direct, practical exposure to smart contract development and decentralized app (dApp) architecture on the Arbitrum network, one of Ethereum's leading Layer 2 scaling solutions.
Rather than just learning theory, students rolled up their sleeves and wrote real code — gaining the kind of experience that bridges the gap between blockchain concepts and actual Web3 development.
NFT marketplaces represent a foundational use case in the Web3 ecosystem. Understanding how to build one from scratch equips developers with transferable skills applicable across DeFi, gaming, digital ownership, and beyond. By choosing Arbitrum as the platform, participants also gained familiarity with Layer 2 technology — a critical area as the industry continues to prioritize scalability and lower transaction costs.
The enthusiasm was palpable. Students were eager to acquire these in-demand Web3 skills, demonstrating that the appetite for blockchain education in the Philippines continues to grow.
This bootcamp is part of The BLOKC's ongoing mission to make blockchain education accessible and practical for Filipino learners. By partnering with universities like Adamson University and focusing on real-world development skills, The BLOKC is helping build the next generation of Web3 builders in Southeast Asia.
Missed this one? Keep an eye out for future bootcamps — opportunities to learn, build, and connect with the growing Philippine blockchain community are always on the horizon.
