The BLOKC launched the first day of its Arbitrum Developers Bootcamp at the University of Batangas on January 30, 2024, welcoming 3rd and 4th-year students from the College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT) into the world of blockchain development.
Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of the Arbitrum blockchain, one of the leading Layer 2 scaling solutions built on Ethereum. The session aimed to give students a solid understanding of Arbitrum's groundbreaking technology and how it addresses key challenges in the broader blockchain ecosystem, such as scalability and transaction efficiency.
A highlight of Day 1 was the hands-on experience in writing and developing smart contracts using two powerful programming languages — Solidity and Rust. By working directly with these tools, students gained practical, real-world skills that are increasingly in demand across the Web3 industry.
This approach reflects The BLOKC's core philosophy: blockchain education should go beyond theory and empower learners to actually build.
The Arbitrum Developers Bootcamp at UBatangas represents a meaningful step in bringing cutting-edge Web3 education to Filipino students. By equipping CICT students with developer-level skills early in their academic careers, The BLOKC continues to contribute to the growth of a homegrown blockchain talent pipeline in the Philippines.
Stay tuned for updates as the bootcamp progresses. The future of blockchain technology is being shaped — one line of code at a time. 🚀
