The BLOKC brought blockchain education to the highlands of Baguio City as part of the CORE </> CONNECT BOOTCAMP PHILIPPINES – BAGUIO, held in partnership with the Junior Blockchain Education Consortium of the Philippines (JBECP) at UP Baguio.
The session, titled Creating Your Own NFTs Using ERC-721, gave participants a hands-on look at one of the most widely used token standards in the Ethereum ecosystem. The ERC-721 standard is the foundation of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), enabling the creation of unique, verifiable digital assets on the blockchain.
The bootcamp featured JP Pabelico, Co-Founder of Selyo and Core Tech Ambassador, as the session speaker. JP guided attendees through the technical concepts behind ERC-721, breaking down how NFTs are structured, minted, and deployed — making the content accessible to students and aspiring blockchain developers alike.
Understanding ERC-721 is a foundational step for anyone looking to build in the Web3 space. From digital art and collectibles to real-world asset tokenization and identity solutions, NFTs continue to play a significant role in the evolving blockchain landscape. Sessions like this equip the next generation of Filipino developers and creators with the technical knowledge to participate — and build — in this space.
This bootcamp reflects The BLOKC's ongoing commitment to bringing quality Web3 education to communities across the Philippines, including those outside Metro Manila. By partnering with university-based organizations like JBECP UP Baguio, The BLOKC continues to grow a nationwide network of blockchain-literate students and professionals.
