The BLOKC brought blockchain education to Adamson University College of Engineering with a focused session on two of the most foundational token standards in the Ethereum ecosystem — ERC-20 and ERC-721.
Leading the discussion was Mr. JP Pabelico, Co-Founder of Selyo, who shared his industry expertise with engineering students eager to deepen their understanding of blockchain development. The session covered the core principles behind ERC-20 fungible tokens and ERC-721 non-fungible tokens (NFTs), giving participants a clearer picture of how these standards power real-world decentralized applications.
ERC-20 is the widely adopted standard for fungible tokens on the Ethereum blockchain, enabling the creation of interchangeable digital assets used in everything from decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols to governance systems. ERC-721, on the other hand, defines the standard for non-fungible tokens — unique digital assets that have reshaped industries from digital art to gaming and beyond.
By bringing in a practitioner like Mr. Pabelico, The BLOKC ensured that students received not just theoretical knowledge but also real-world context on how these token standards are applied in live blockchain projects.
Adamson University's College of Engineering continues to be a hub for forward-thinking students ready to explore emerging technologies. This session is part of The BLOKC's ongoing mission to make Web3 education accessible to Filipino students and professionals across the country.
Stay tuned for more #LearnwithTheBLOKC sessions as we continue to bring world-class blockchain education to campuses and communities throughout the Philippines.
