The BLOKC hosted a free two-day blockchain workshop in Cebu City, giving participants a hands-on opportunity to learn how to build Bitcoin-secured decentralized applications (dApps) on the Core blockchain.
Held on February 21–22, 2025, the workshop ran from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day at the DOST Complex, Sudlon St., Brgy. Lahug, Cebu City — conveniently located just a few meters from JY Square.
The event was part of the Core Connect Bootcamp, a learning initiative in partnership with Core DAO, designed to introduce developers and blockchain enthusiasts to the growing ecosystem of Bitcoin-powered decentralized applications.
Attendees dove into the fundamentals and practical aspects of building on Core, a blockchain that leverages Bitcoin's security model. The free workshop provided an accessible entry point for aspiring Web3 developers in the Visayas region, offering structured, instructor-led sessions across two full days.
Events like the Core Connect Bootcamp reflect The BLOKC's ongoing mission to make blockchain education accessible to Filipinos — particularly outside Metro Manila. By bringing free, high-quality technical training to Cebu, The BLOKC continues to grow the local Web3 developer community and equip participants with skills relevant to the global blockchain industry.
Whether you're a seasoned developer or just starting your Web3 journey, workshops like this serve as a launchpad for building real skills and real projects in the decentralized space.
