The BLOKC's UNBLOKC Hackathon 2023 reached a thrilling milestone as its Live Pitching Showdown was hosted at the SHL - Academic Resource Center (SHL-ARC) of Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Manila — and what a venue it turned out to be.
Named in honor of the late Senator Sotero H. Laurel, the SHL-ARC is more than just a library. It is a space that embodies scholarship, enlightened nationalism, and a forward-thinking learning culture — values that aligned perfectly with the spirit of the UNBLOKC Hackathon.
The BLOKC extends its heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Jennifer Tucpi, VP of Academic Affairs, and the outstanding College of Technology – LPU Manila team, including Dr. Arlene Caballero, Dr. Earl Albina, Ma'am Irene Balmes, Ma'am Connie Adriano, and Sir Angelo Manuevo. Their dedication and warm support were instrumental in making the event a resounding success.
The collaboration with LPU Manila is a testament to what becomes possible when academic institutions open their doors to innovation and emerging technology. The SHL-ARC proved that libraries are not just sanctuaries for book lovers — they are launchpads for dreamers, builders, and the next generation of Web3 innovators.
The UNBLOKC Hackathon 2023 challenged participants to develop blockchain-powered solutions to real-world problems, culminating in this high-energy live pitching event where teams presented their projects before judges and an eager audience.
Thank you, LPU Manila, for being a champion of innovation and for helping The BLOKC bring Web3 education and builder culture to Filipino youth. We look forward to more meaningful collaborations in the future! 🚀
