The BLOKC (Blocklabs, Inc.) brought Web3 education to the Technological University of the Philippines – Taguig Campus on November 4, 2024, as the company's own Chief Technology Officer took center stage to inspire the next generation of blockchain-ready professionals.
Mark Hugh Neri, CTO of The BLOKC, Tech Lead of Solana Superteam Philippines, and Co-Founder of Project Selyo, delivered a talk titled "Web3 Demystified: Unblocking Opportunities through Learning and Earning" at the IT Function Hall from 1:00 PM to 4:45 PM.
The session aimed to break down common misconceptions surrounding Web3 and blockchain technology, while highlighting the real and growing opportunities available to those willing to learn and engage with the space. Drawing from his extensive background across multiple roles in the Philippine Web3 ecosystem, Neri was well-positioned to bridge the gap between technical complexity and practical understanding for student and academic audiences.
As CTO of The BLOKC, Neri leads the technical direction of one of the Philippines' most active blockchain education organizations. His concurrent role as Tech Lead of Solana Superteam Philippines places him at the forefront of developer community-building in the country, while his work as Co-Founder of Project Selyo reflects his commitment to building homegrown Web3 solutions.
This kind of campus outreach reflects The BLOKC's broader mission: to make blockchain and Web3 education accessible to Filipinos across all sectors — including students who are just beginning to explore the space. By going directly to academic institutions, The BLOKC continues to plant seeds for a more informed and empowered local Web3 community.
